Our "Jesus Set" is part of our Advent tradition

We've had the Playmobil Nativity Set for eleven years, and my kids call it the "Jesus Set". It comes out of storage on my youngest son's birthday, which is right after Thanksgiving. When the boys were little, it would go on the table or dresser. The boys would have to get permission to play with it and would so carefully play with the pieces and re-enact the Christmas story.

As they got older, they didn't "play" with it as much, but it still gets displayed, the pieces re-arranged, and is part of our Christmas tradition.

It should be noted that there ARE a lot of small pieces as another reviewer wrote. We did lose a few over the years, and the Baby Jesus's head came off at one point. Last year we bought a second set. I have the "old" set for spare parts still. However, the fun and tradition of this set is TOTALLY worth it and the pieces are solid in spite of our decapitated Baby Jesus.

Most for family of toddler age

I bought this to help my boys (age 1, 3, 6) to understand what Christmas stands for. They enjoyed moving the pieces to the story. There are a few very small pieces we put away do to the little one but all in all great for toddlers.
